  • Capacity building: Organizing capacity building programs on Occupational and environmental health to Medical offices of health / Additional Medical offices of health (AMOH), and Public health inspectors / senior Public health inspectors.
  • Awareness: Organize awareness programs for workers in the formal and informal Occupational settings and the management of Occupational setting. Conduct awareness programs organized at the local level by the PHII and the MOH office.
  • Surveillance: Maintain a database on occupational settings in the district.

Main Duties of Food and Drug Inspectors

  • Under the Food Act No.26 of 1980 and the NMRA Act No. 05 of 2015 investigating complaints, taking samples, recording statements, prosecuting cases and conducting cases.
  • Organizing and conducting educational programs under the Food Act No.26 of 1980 and the NMRA Act No.05 of 2015.
  • Conducting special raids and inspections under the Food Act and NMRA Act.
  • Inspection and advising pharmacies and drugs in whole sale outlets.
  • Taking food samples and sending them to the government analyst.
